I like to fill it in myself with that I think is logical. But now I'd better read the book again to see what I missed!

Amazon and Borders are really plugging the movie for Valentine's Day. Gotta say, it's a no-sale with me, no matter how cute Eric Bana is!Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07364752277483354507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1183599130867653902.post-49882696347561907062010-01-27T14:14:18.403-05:002010-01-27T14:14:18.403-05:00For me, nothing about TTW made any sense. The time...For me, nothing about TTW made any sense. The time travel didn't make logical sense to me. I kept picturing Henry showing up, naked, at multiple times at different ages at the same events in his life. Like the mother's car accident... he revisited it often. So at the accident, are there like hundreds of naked Henrys watching from all different angles, walking along the highway, dangling from tree limbs? And I had a problem with him creepily watching his future wife growing up. And I had a problem with her family never noticing that she was gone for extended periods. And I had a problem with the paper-making. And I had a problem with the pregnancies and miscarriages... were the babies time traveling in utero? Ick. And why did she want a baby that could possibly have this genetic issue. And then when she did have it... ick. I had a problem with the little girl time traveling. Showing up naked. Ick. And Henry teaching her how to pick locks and be a criminal so she could get food and clothes. LOL Pretty much everything about that book bothered me! I did not run out to see the movie! :)

The Lace Reader... I just liked the whole story. I liked the characters. I liked the mind reading. I liked the connections to Old Salem. I liked the lace. I liked the island life. Towner's craziness didn't bother me.

I agree with you, I didn't really get Rafferty's interest in Towner, either. He reminded me of the sherriff from Twin Peaks, if you remember that show. Anyway... yeah, we should probably start that discussion soon. If Cindy doesn't start it this week I will try to post something this weekend, or you can.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1183599130867653902.post-75850127281792629552010-01-25T21:05:02.640-05:002010-01-25T21:05:02.640-05:00That is interesting. I'm up for it!

BTW, what did you hate about TTW? It's been a while since I read it, but it had an "in" with me from the start because of the whole time travel aspect.Chrishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07364752277483354507noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1183599130867653902.post-15124767829060544562010-01-22T23:57:29.658-05:002010-01-22T23:57:29.658-05:00Hi Chris, I finally finished this book, and I real...Hi Chris, I finally finished this book, and I really enjoyed it... interesting to me how much you hated it!
